New York-based Benjamin Sturgill's work as a stylist draws on both his extensive experience as a shaper of concepts and his pragmatic knowledge of a wide spectrum of fashion labels, fashion history and contemporary style movements, as well as an in-depth knowledge of art history and contemporary art.

Sturgill began his career after completing his BFA in Studio Arts. Upon arriving in New York City, he quickly found himself among the peers of the most influential artists and designers of the 90s. He worked with groundbreaking labels such as Bernadette Corporation, United Bamboo, and Susan Cianciolo Run before eventually deciding to focus on the next evolution in creative expression: styling. Shortly after, he worked as a stylist for seminal publications such as Purple Magazine, Self Service, ID, Dazed & Confused, V Man and 10 Men, among other cutting-edge magazines worldwide. He has styled numerous runway shows, catalogs, and ad campaigns.

After years of working with independent publications, Sturgill added top consumer publications to his portfolio, including Elle US, Marie Claire US, Harper's Bazaar and W magazine, eventually became a Contributing Editor to Details magazine, where he racked up an impressive number of covers and editorials.  Sturgill also self-published the conceptual fashion book Everything Mag, which the New York Times proclaimed as “One to watch”.

His client list includes Bloomingdales, Calvin Klein, Canali, Kenneth Cole, Max Mara and Opening Ceremony, to name just a few. He has worked as a consultant to the labels Chloë Sevigny for Opening Ceremony and Lucio Castro.

Most recently, Sturgill has expanded into e-commerce styling and art direction, personal styling, and wardrobe consultation for art gallery staff.
